Three Democratic candidates and 12 Republican candidates have announced their camapaign for president
Miami Mayor Francis Suarez has become the first GOP candidate to drop out of the race after failing to qualify for the initial RNC debate in August. On August 29, he announced the suspension of his campaign through a tweet, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to almost participate in the debate.
Currently, 15 Republican candidates are continuing their campaigns with an eye on the Iowa caucuses, which are nearly five months away. They aim to convince both voters and their parties that they are the best choice for the nomination. In contrast, the Democratic field only comprises three candidates due to President Joe Biden being the assumed nominee.
A substantial group of Republican hopefuls, including figures like former President Donald Trump, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, former Vice President Mike Pence, ex-South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, ex-Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, South Carolina Senator Tim Scott, former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, conservative personality Larry Elder, former Representative Will Hurd, and businessman Perry Johnson, are vying to challenge the incumbent president.
