Anna Shay, a cast member of the Netflix reality series Bling Empire, has died from a stroke at the age of 62.
Shay’s death was confirmed by her son, Kenny. He told People magazine that his mother died on January 8 at her home in Beverly Hills.
“She was a fashion icon and a philanthropist,” Kenny Shay said. “She was a very special and kind woman, and she will be greatly missed.”
Shay was born in Japan to a Japanese father and a Russian mother. She moved to the United States with her family when she was young.
She made her fortune in the real estate business. She was the CEO of Pacific Architects and Engineers, a company that specializes in government contracting.
Shay was also a philanthropist. She was a trustee of the Annenberg Foundation, a charitable organization founded by her father, and she donated millions of dollars to various causes.
