A 32-year-old woman from Florida has been arrested for allegedly hiring a hitman to kill the wife of a man she met online.
The woman, identified as Jessica Anne Miller, was arrested on Tuesday after police received a tip that she had been trying to hire someone to kill the wife of a man she had been talking to online.
According to the police, Miller met the man, who is also from Florida, on an online dating website in March. The two began talking and eventually started dating.
However, Miller became jealous of the man’s wife and began plotting to have her killed. She allegedly contacted a hitman on the dark web and offered him $5,000 to kill the wife.
The hitman contacted the police and told them about the plot. Miller was arrested on Tuesday and charged with solicitation to commit murder.
She is currently being held without bond.
This is not the first time that someone has been arrested for trying to hire a hitman to kill the spouse of someone they met online. In 2019, a woman in California was arrested for allegedly trying to hire a hitman to kill the husband of a man she had been talking to online.
These cases are a reminder that people should be careful about who they meet online and what information they share. If you are ever in a situation where you feel threatened or unsafe, please contact the police.
