Donald Trump has said that he took money from other countries while he was president, such as China, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar. In a recent report, Democrats on the House Oversight Committee said that the former president broke the U.S. Constitution’s foreign emoluments clause.
The former president defended himself against these claims. The report said that Trump’s four businesses got about $7.8 million from 20 countries while he was president, with at least $5.5 million coming from China in his first two years in office. The report came out at the same time that House Republicans were trying to impeach President Joe Biden on charges that he took advantage of his son Hunter Biden’s work in foreign countries while he was in office.
Trump intends to keep his ownership stake in The Trump Organization, his real estate conglomerate, if he prevails in the 2024 election. Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump are primarily in charge of it. He also defended the money he got from foreign officials in the past.
